I've been using the app for a while and one day. All of the sudden. When I go to login to my cox account through the app in order to sign in to Live extra to watch the premier league. I get the following error message "HTTP Status 404"

i un installed and re installed the app. Including through my cox account. Tried several things. Nothing works.

i just downloaded an HGTV app and signed in. And ithat works just fine.

Hi Everyone, I apologize for the delay in our update! When this problem first began, our call center representatives--as well as the members of my team--were as in the dark as all of you! That's why it took a while to figure out exactly what was happening. Cox is an active provider for NBC Sports Network LiveEXtra online streaming and the NBC Sports LiveExtra mobile app for games and events airing on the Golf channel and the NBC Sports Network. In previous years, we also had live-stream access to NBC sports broadcasts, including Sunday Night Football. Prior to the start of the current NFL season, however, NBC began requiring users to go through an authentication process. We are working with NBC to set up access for Cox customers so that everyone can enjoy live NBC content again. We hope to have news very soon! Also, we've heard from a few users that the NBC Sports LiveExtra app will no longer allow them to live-stream games airing on the NBC Sports Network. NBC hasn't been able to determine why this happens, but uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixes the problem.

Thanks for reaching out to us through the Cox Forums! I apologize that you weren't able to watch the Premier League games through the NBC Sports LiveExtra app on Sunday. At what point in the app did the 404 error pop up? Was it when you pressed "play" to start live-streaming a game shown in the list of Live and Upcoming events? Was it a game airing on the NBC Sports Network or one of the NBC Sports Extra Time channels? We can help you get to the bottom of this!

Hi Becky,

Thank you for your response.

Any game that I try to watch is pretty much always on Live Extra.

I would click on the cox logo at the top right of the app and enter my login credentials. and that's when it would go to the error page.

I opened the app on my iPhone and found the Cox logo that you mentioned. When I click on it and enter my credentials, I get the same "HTTP Status 404" error that you do!

I've been using the app for a while without ever clicking on the Cox logo. When the app opens and presents the list of Live and Upcoming Events, I simply click the "Play" button for any of the events currently available live via the NBC Sports Network, the Golf Channel, or the NBC Sports Extra Time channels.

Because the app stores my provider and sign-in credentials, in most cases I don't need to enter my Cox User ID and password other than the first time I launch the app. On the occasions where I'm not on my home network, the app asks for my credentials after I press the "Play" button for whatever live stream I've chosen.

When you open the app, do you see the list of Live and Upcoming Events? What happens if you press the Play button at this point for a live event? (Make sure it is a live event available on the NBC Sports Network, the Golf Channel, or the NBC Sports Extra Time channels.)

I just tried the golf channel. And this is the message that I get.

"UD.Error.LoginErrorTitle"

Now. Here is what I just tried. I opened up my safari browser on my ipad. I went to cox.com. I logged into my account. I tapped on

"my connections" and then i tapped on watch live Tv (also tried selecting ipad/iphone) next to the live extra app. it took me to the app, at the app store. Since I already have the app, It prompted me to open the app. I opened the app. I now no longer see the cox logo at the top right.

I tap on the Live golf channel. No response. Total freeze of the app. Can't swipe. Can't do anything.

I close the app and re open it. I now again see the Cox logo at the top right.  I select the Golf channel. And once again. I get the

UD message listed above.

Going in a loop. very frustrating...

Do you currently subscribe to the NBC Sports channel via Cox TV service? That's one of NBC's requirements. (Refer to the section titled "NBC Sports Live Extra" in the article found at http://bit.ly/CoxTVOnlineAccessPaths.)

Hi Becky,

I do subscribe to this sports channel. I too am getting this login error as I try to watch English Premiere League live. If I wait, I can watch the games later as full replays. Something is therefore off with the Cox authentication. Any advice?

Hi Becky,

I do subscribe to the Sports Channel pack. I can watch games in full replay mode, but I was getting the login error. I thought it might have to with Cox login issues. I just signed out and am trying to sign in. Cox is no longer showing as a carrier.

What happened?

Thank you for all the feedback everyone!

It seems as though Cox and or NBC may be working on the issue. Because as some of you have mentioned. Cox is no longer listed as a provider. When this was not the case just a couple of weeks ago if I'm not mistaking. But what I don't understand is that I can do it from my pc with windows 8. Although. when i use the app on my pc, It does not work properly.

I have to do it through my internet explorer browser.

You have not been helpful at all Becky. All you have done is confirm that you are getting the same error. Cox claims to provide subscribers with NBC live extra access, but it's clear that this is no longer the case. Why not? All of us paying subscribers had access a week ago.

Hi Everyone,

There has been a great deal of confusion regarding the NBC Sports LiveExtra app, and I apologize. NBC Sports LiveExtra allow you to stream live video online and/or through a mobile device for several different channels. Cox does not have access to all of the channels available through the app.

Cox is a provider for NBC Sports LiveExtra online streaming and the NBC Sports LiveExtra mobile app. Cox customers have access to LIVE content from the Golf Channel, NBC Sports Network, and the NBC Sports Extra Time channels. We do not yet have access to live NBC content.

After some digging, I was able to confirm that the error UD: Error.LoginErrorTitle only occurs when the user’s cable subscription does not include the NBC Sports Network. I have reported the “HTTP Status 404" error to our programming team, but please know this error has not prevented me from accessing live content on the Golf Channel or NBC Sports Network. I haven’t found a reason or a need to click on the Cox logo in the upper right-hand corner of the app.

As a test, this morning I uninstalled the app from my iPhone and reinstalled it. When I opened the app, the list of LIVE and Upcoming Events displayed. I clicked the Play button to watch the Tottenham Premier League game that is currently airing on an NBC Sports Extra Time channel. I was asked to choose my provider, and chose Cox from the list. A login screen came up and I entered my Cox username and password. A few seconds later, I was live-streaming the Tottenham Premier League game.

I will not be able to watch the National Professional Grid League Championships at 1PM because this airs on NBC. We do not yet have access to  live NBC content. If you click the Play button to watch something airing live on NBC, the following Authorization Error should pop up: “Sorry, at this time TV Everywhere services are not available for this network at your provider.” This doesn’t mean that Cox is not a provider of the app; it means that Cox doesn’t have access to content airing on NBC.

One other important note: the first time you install and open the app, you must be connected to your home network in order for the authentication process to complete successfully. For those of you having trouble watching live content or if you are unable to find Cox in the list of providers, please uninstall and reinstall the app while connected to your home network. Open the app, click the Play button for something playing live on the Golf Channel or the NBC Sports Network, choose Cox from the list of providers, and enter your Cox primary User ID and password.

What happens next?

"One other important note: the first time you install and open the app, you must be connected to your home network in order for the authentication process to complete successfully."

Hi Becky,  If this is really your policy, you need to change it, but frankly that sounds like you're making it up.  I've been having the same problem the others on this forum are.  I'm connected to AT&T's LTE network trying to RE-DOWNLOAD the NBC Sports Live Extra App, because it suddenly stopped working.  When I did, Cox was not in the available subscriber and log-in list, as everyone above has stated.  To have to go back to my house to re-download and install this app is stupid.  I don't need to watch my phone at home.  I have a TV there.  I need to watch the app when I'm NOT at home.  And when it stops working, I don't have the luxury of going home to fix it.  And, by the way, even if I'm at home, I don't see the COX login option, so I can't even get to the login screen to enter my user id and password.  Any other ideas?  Any way I can contact NBC tech support directly about the issue?

As an update, I just spoke to Cox Tier 2 Tech Support (Saturday, October 11th at noon Pacific).  They were able to reproduce the problem on their device in the tech support center.  They believe there may have been a change to the Cox-NBC contract that temporarily has the app not working, although the service through standard web browsers is still working.  This may also be a technical problem, but definitely does not have anything to do with the app being installed at home as opposed to being installed while connected through any other network.  I will post here when I get a response back.

It's now October 18th, a week later, and this still hasn't been resolved. Cox has been pulled from the provider list for the NBC live extra app and cox customers no longer have access. No one from cox has bothered to follow up. My cable bill is way too high to be denied a service that I had before, only now for it to be no longer available. What is the update regarding the usage of NBC's live extra app through cox and why has no one from cox responded to this problem?
