NBC SP 251 & 716 in Tulsa poor signal - any others with this problem

About every time I try to watch NBC Sports channels 251 or 716 in Tulsa, I either get a temporally off the air message on a black screen or a very poor quality pixelated or frozen picture and burpy audio - totally unwatchable most of the time.  All other channels are working OK.

Is anyone else in the Tusla area having the same problem?  It seems to be that the signal Cox is buying from NBC is corrupted and something they need to fix.  I just replaced my Cisco modem recently and TV, phone and internet are fine.

I feel I'm getting ripped off paying a high price for channels I can't watch.

drbob,

I'm not seeing any outages at this time. Is your cable straight from the wall to the receiver or is there a splitter? If so, I suggest bypassing the splitter to see if the issue continues. If not, I suggest swapping the ends of the cable, so what's in the wall put in the receiver and vice versa.

i have the same issue and it's very frustrating. I called COX and they installed an amplifier, but even with the amplifier it's pixelating on many occassions. it's very frustrating. i wish they can fix it. I watch the English Premier League on that channel.

Hello salih,

Are you experiencing this issue on all channels or just this one? Is this happening on all TVs in the home or just one?

No I don't have the problem on all channels, or all of the time.

I believe you completely missed the point of my original post.

It isn't a problem with my cables or home hook-up, it is the fact that the programming you have scheduled does not get broadcast out on the cable.  I don't know if it is that the NBCSN feed you receive if faulty or you don't get it plugged into your cable feed properly, but sometimes (at least at the time I was complaining about) the signal I was receiving for that particular set of channels carrying what I wanted to watch was completely unusable.  During some of the outage there was a nice clear " temporarily off the air" message that came through 5x5 indicating the problem was not mine - but Cox's.

The most recent times when I watched the NBCSN channel the signal was fine.  I made the post as a help to your quality control knowing that if there is a problem it probably won't get fixed if you don't know about it.  i can find no other effective method of letting Cox know about a customer complaint or comment on quality of service.

While I'm complaining, the forum internet service was terribly slow for a while this morning.  I waited and waited for to get this reply posted, and had to redo it.  Finally the service seemed to come to life and things worked much better.

Glad to hear its working better, we are aware of the forum issues where it periodically times out and are having the administrators look into it but it seems to be interment so its hard to always catch it, but thanks for letting us know.
