A while back I was constantly losing Wifi and had to turn my modem off and back on. Someone from Cox came out and said my modem was current enough but I had a problem with the connection at the modem and also out on the street somewhere. Things were fine for a while, but now I am having to do the same thing. Do I need to replace my modem or should I have someone come out again?

It depends.
Try accessing 192.168.100.1, it should pull up a modem diagnostic page.
Post your modem make & model and copy/paste the logs here, as well as signal information if accessible.
Someone should be able to parse that information to at least get a snapshot of what your modem thinks is the problem.
