What happens when you try to access the missing channels? Are you getting an error message or a blank screen? Do you see the channels listed in the guide at all?

I have this problem also; in general the mini-box works quite well, but around 15 channels don't come in at all. When tuned to them (either directly or via guide) a message is displayed "Sorry there is currently no TV signal for this channel ..." which includes a reference number 3.1.4; in addition a few channels that I expected to get don't show up in the guide at all (e.g. 28, 820, 59, 65)

I had this problem too, replaced the connector on the cable going into my minibox and that solved all my problems. I think I had a loose ground inside the connector. Funny, that connector worked fine directly into the TV but gave problems with the minibox ... maybe the minibox is more sensitive to signal level than my TV.

Hi - thanks for the reply; the channels that don't come in are:
19,21,28,33,34,37,42,43,48,59,85,86,88
I will try the rescan and reply again if it helped.

After doing the rescan the same list of channels are not viewable (same error message).

Hey Michael, or Stephanie,
My inside intel says the Mini does not support 2-way communication, so no SDV channels would show up on the Mini.
Is it possible that some of these missing channels that are being reported are because Cox has not yet moved them from SDV to Linear.
It will be interesting to see when Arizona starts deploying Minis, because most of the SD & HD Essential Pak, is currently SDV.
Thanks,
Bryan

It is on a splitter, but I tried it directly connected to the coax from the wall and it didn't change the status of the channels.

Based on your symptoms and the 3.1.4 error, there may be an issue with the signal getting to the mini box. Do you have quirks or issues with your other cable boxes or with internet connectivity? There may be something going on outside of your home that we need to address. Email your name and full street address to my team at Cox.Help@cox.com so we can take a closer look at this for you!

Why does Cox Tech support refuse to confirm whether or not Mini-boxes work with SDV? And if they do NOT work with SDV, will mini-box customers be given a list of SDV channels in their area that they cannot receive?

My apologies to all, as I missed the question regarding SDV. The mini box is a one-way device and does not support Switched Digital Video (SDV) channels.
As each Cox market prepares for the transition to an all-digital lineup, our video engineers are reconfiguring the channel maps. Channels in the Cox TV Starter and TV Essential tiers are being moved out of the SDV lineup in order to be available through the mini box.

Awesome! Does this include the HD channels in the "Starter" and "Essential" tiers?
