Mini Box - Can I turn off the power when NOT in use

Those mini boxes get pretty warm while plugged in and probably use us some small amount of power .  Since I have  3 mini boxes are these boxes suppose to shut off / power down when you push the power button on the remote to turn off/power down the TV?

Hi, the mini-boxes do not power off.

That's dumb ! Even the basic and basic TV boxes turn off. 

I suppose there is a camera and microphone in there and that's why they are always powered up .

How comfortable is that tinfoil hat you're wearing?

If it's that big of a concern for you, unplug the mini-box when it's not in use. Simple solution.

Uh...no, they don't.

The main reason it probably doesn't have a power button is to avoid calls of people who accidentally turned it off and wondered why their "TV was broken". That is why they got rid of standby buttons on modems.
