Lots of issues with Signal for a while now.

I'm horrible when it comes to follow up.  A tech came out to look at this problem a while back but I'm working alot and my wife was there.   Nothing he did fixed these issues.

We have one main DVR box and three standard HD boxes.   With whole house DVR.

-All Tv's lose TV signal plus sound randomly.  Almost looks like dish drop out.  Even shows on some recordings.  A message flashes briefly that says like code 3.1.1 and to call a number.   This happens maybe three times in a 30 minute show.  It can last about 1 minute.  But sometimes on the satelite rooms the channel drops off completely and states there is no signal.
- Whole house DVR not working at all or for very long in most satellite rooms.  When watching a recording it will play for a bit then stall then post a message that says technical issues.
- Once in a great while the main box/DVR will lose HDMI signal.   We even got another TV when this started happening and it happens on this new TV also.  Also we bought three different HMDI cables also.  This is rare and not really a concern.
Any ideas what in the world could cause this?  I'm an IT guys so I understand a bit about how a cable tv works.  Could this be the splitter hanging on the outside of the house?

By chance would you describe your issues as more with tuning live TV or accessing stored recordings between boxes or more of both?

Is this on all boxes or just certain ones?  When I looked it seemed some boxes had good signal but others were questionable.

All boxes.   Some more than others.  None will play recorded content right now.  We use the main TV with the DVR the most and now more while my wife and kids are off for the summer so I'm getting more complaints.

We may want to get another technician to come out and troubleshoot further.  If you'd like us to help with that just email us at cox.help@cox.com for further assistance. -Chris
