Long delay after selecting a recorded program

I need someone to repair my DVR. It takes far to long to start playing recorded programs (up to a min. with some programs) and in the middle of some recorded programs the screen goes black, flashes a few times and then comes back on. Some thing is not right with this unit.

Have you tried manually rebooting the DVR by unplugging the power from it for a few seconds?
