Location of the cable modem?

When we started our service last year, I wanted the modem installed near the PS3/TV so I could run a network cable directly to the PS3.  I was not able to be home when it was installed, and the technician put the modem by the computer.  Meanwhile I get 1/4 the internet speed at the device that needs speed the most.

Is there any reason I would NOT want to move the modem away from the main PC?

The PC has a wireless adapter, so connectivity is not an issue.  I am seriously considering having the modem moved, but I want to know if there are any issues that this could cause.

If you have a cable outlet that is accessible to the location you want to modem you certainly could try hooking it up there and see if it works.  Should all else fail there's no reason you couldn't move it back while exploring other options.
