IR repeater not working with Contour Box & URC-8820-CISCO remote
I just relocated my main Contour box and a couple of other devices to a closet and installed an IR repeater. The other devices are working fine with the IR repeater, but the Cox Contour box isn't responding. Any idea what the problem is? Do these work on a different frequency or something?

What are your other boxes? A IR repeater just repeats the IR signal, so does the signal work when pointed direct at the Contour box? I assume this uses a IR blaster, and not the IR input?

The Cisco boxes' IR circuits run at 57KHz, not old 38 KHz. So, you need a Model IRE5712M (Part Number 1004648) or equivalent. Try a http://www.cmple.com/p-165-dual-frequency-ir-receiver-sa-hdtv-dvr-and-directtv-h21.aspx and tell us if it works.
I've been trying to get the Cisco part from Cox for 4 years.

Yes, the remote works fine when pointed directly at the Contour box.
This is the repeater I'm using: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YI6IZWW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01

That's what I was assuming. So, using the repeater, if I just change out the receiver cable to the one you mentioned, it should transmit both frequencies through to the closet?

Not sure. I am unfamiliar with those wall plates.

I was reading the reviews on the page you linked and saw this:
"The IR's that come with it, attach to the receiver and are basically worthless if you stand more than 4 - 5 feet away from them."
So maybe the sensor on the Contour box isn't sensitive enough to pick up the weak signal? What happens if you bring the box closer to the outlet?
