IR Extender

As per here, you need a Cisco IRE5712M (Part 1004648) which I found for sale on CDW. Anyone know if these are available at Cox stores?

Did you see the note at the CDW site? "This item is currently unavailable to purchase online."

No, Cox stores do not carry these devices. And according to the Cox website, this port is not active on the 1642HDC. Cox would not tell me why.

Odd, that was not there when I linked. I even checked my browser history to confirm. Must have just sold out?  Guess it is a moot point if the IR port is disabled. TY

It's been there since I started looking about 3 years ago.

IF it's truly disabled, it was done by Cox - not Cisco. Cox doesn't know how/why they claim it's disabled. Cisco says it should work. I cannot get one person at Cox to address this. They just refer to their "sheet" which says it's disabled.
