internet speed of preferred package & Title II
Good evening,
Before I complain to the FCC regarding Cox Cable service, I thought I would do you the courtesy of asking you exactly what internet speed you claim to be providing to me as part of the internet preferred package I am paying for... your speed test fails due to latency errors and DSL Reports speed tests benchmark my service at right about where I recall it has always been, or 9MB/s download and 1.5MB/s upload.
9/1.5 is far far below the 50/5 MB/syou claim to be selling in the Internet Preferred package
What are you going to do about that?
Larry

Preferred's Internet speed is 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload, assuming you have proper equipment of course (modem, router)
1) Do you have a DOCSIS 3.0 modem to handle the full 50 Mbps?
2) When you do a speed test, is it on a wired connection direct to your modem or over wifi?
3) What are your modem's signal levels?

I took a look from this end and I do see the modem you're using is an older model and not suitable for 50/5 speeds. Check out http://www.cox.com/residential/support/internet/article.cox?articleId=b2ec95d0-7ef9-11df-5590-000000000000 for a list of approved modems to reference should you choose to upgrade. Note that if you're using a router and it does not have gigabit Ethernet ports it may also need to be upgraded as well.
