I've noticed this since Super Bowl Sunday, but my net has had an inconsistent connection since Sunday evening. I thought it was just something that would clear up in a day, but it didn't. It is 12:15am Thursday, and things are still wonky & random at best. I'm on the premier tier, and I've seen my download & upload speeds go in flux almost every hour. My download speeds will go from anywhere between 1-10 Mbps, and my upload speed would never go beyond 0.50Mbps. Again, this has been an ongoing thing, since Super Bowl Sunday.
I do have two computers in my home, an Xbox 360, and an Android phone. All of which connect to my line. I've never seen any decrease in service, after having all that run. I also have a netgear router, but I do my own networking. and I'm very hip to keeping things updated & upgraded.
Before anyone rules out the fact of my router, I ran a test without using the router in question. I'm getting the exact same speeds as I've posted above. So this is not an issue with my router. I would have caught that kind of inconsistency from it in a heartbeat, if that was the case.
So, in the past few days, I've rounded it down to being an issue somewhere between here, and the Cox servers. And after coming here to the support forums, and searching before posting, it appears I'm not the only one, who is having the same, or similar situation. I doubt having a tech guy come out here to analyze this problem would fix it.
Because of this problem, I cannot download email attachments from family. I cannot download links my friends send me. I cannot also upload any videos to YouTube, because my upload speed, on all fronts since this started, almost appear to be non-existent. I've never had this kind of issue with Cox before, and being a long time customer, one just doesn't expect this to happen. But one doesn't expect a quick fix to the situation either.
I've followed the steps in resetting, rebooting, DNS changing, etc. Just to see if I can round out the source of the problem. With & without the use of my router. And I still get the same overall results. So I've done just about everything one may think to ask of me, before it is asked. Any encouragement at this point, would be helpful.

Could you go to http://192.168.100.1 and post the signal statistics and modem logs? There may be something in there that helps us understand better what is going on.

Sure thing. This is all I could find, in the link given to me from you.
Upstream
VENDOR: Arris Interactive, L.L.C.
BOOTR: 6.23
SW_REV: 6.1.120.MAXF861
MODEL: TM602G
There wasn't many options I could see, and these are the only logs I could find. I'm pretty sure it's just a minor hiccup somewhere. I hope this information was helpful.

The number of T3 events you have there suggests an upstream problem, probably noise ingress somewhere. I would try bypassing any coax spliters you can and ensure that all your coax cabling and connectors are in good shape. It may be beneficial to have a technician come out and troubleshoot further should all that be in order.

Here's the thing about that: the only coax spliter that was ever used, was the one installed by the technician, during the time I had digital cable with cox. It's been almost 2 years since I had cable (since I am no longer home long enough to watch it. I use Netflix & Hulu for more movie watching than cable, mind you). So the only one that is there, is the one that was put on the outside of my home.
During that time period there was no more cable, I've never had an issue like this before. So it could be an upstream problem as you said.

It could also be an equipment issue, all the more reason that it may be time to have a technician come out and look.
