I am currently renting a modem from cox but I recently purchased a modem.
modem model is Cisco DPQ3212 8x4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem with Embedded Digital Voice Adapter.
It is labeled as "cox" on the box and it also support the telephone line but I'll just use it for the internet.
Can I just replace old modem and will it work? or Do I need to call cox to connect internet again since I replace to the new modem?
I uses a premier internet speed. Is this modem fast enough to hold 100mbps internet service?
Thanks

" I recently purchased a modem."
Phone modems aren't sold to customers. They are sold to phone providers to sell service. Kind of like a cable box. Just like a cable box, you can't buy one and put it on Cox. Part of this is a technical limitation. Firmware and the like. But most of it is a procedure limitation. You could call and fib about it's model number. As long as you give the right HFC MAC address it will probably work, but I can't promise how well it will work.
But to answer your other question, it is technically fast enough for Premier. I would suggest a retail stand alone modem though.
