Hi, recently I have been going over my data usage, but never had an issue because it explicitly states that you do not charge for going over the bandwidth cap. However, I was forced to pay a charge for "consecutively going over the cap" recently. I paid it, but now I am being threatened that if I go over one more month that I will be automatically upgraded to a more expensive package against my will. I do not want this to occur, and I want to know if this is company policy or if I am being mistreated. Please help me, I am almost certain I am being mistreated.

We do not charge if you go over your bandwidth. Where did you receive the communication that you had to pay? Was it in an email and who did you pay that too? I am not aware of any automatic upgrades or overage fees. I would like to figure out where that information came from. Please email us at cox.help@cox.com, if you could also please include your account info so we can have a look.

I've been with Cox for 30 years and I've also received email advising of overage....i didn't know there was a limit and when I go on line to see what the limits are for their different levels -- i don't see them listed. Cox is having problems with services like Netflix cutting into their business and my belief is that these limits are a result. They should have informed all their customers...
By the way, when questioning what happens if you go over on their website....they state only in extreme circumstances will they cut off your service.
