Hi,
Would the following idea work?
Use an HDMI splitter to split the signal coming out of my Cox Minibox. Send one of the signals to my current Sony 50" LCD tv, as it does now.
Put the other HDMI signal from the splitter into a computer card such as AVerMedia C027 AVerTV HD DVR that is inside a powerful Home Theater PC. This computer will use software such as KODI to save the HDMI signal (through the DVR card) to the hard drive.
Of course, I would only be able to record whatever channel the Minibox is set to. I will worry about changing the channel programmatically at a later time.
Thanks,
MPR

No. As per the C027,
"*Capturing HD content with HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) is not supported."
You might be able to figure out something via software, but doubt it would work with the splitter.
