How do I make my internet faster?

Do I need to upgrade my modem? I don't really know anything about this stuff, so please forgive me. It says Essential Internet services on my bill. I am not even sure what speed I am paying for. I tested it the other day and the download was around 5 mbps, and the upload was a little over 1 mbps.

Those speeds are actually right in line with Essential Tier service which is offered at 5Mbps download/1Mbps upload.  The modem you're using is one of the newer models which is equipped to handle any tier of service we currently offer should you wish to upgrade.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
