How Can I Disconnect My Phone Service Without Having A Major Hike In My Bill
What should I do to disconnect my home phone service? It's never worked right from the beginning, and I'm tired of paying for something that doesn't work right, and now doesn't work at all. I get calls, but my phone never works. It says to "check tel line." I check the line, but nothing is wrong with the connection. I just want to disconnect it, without being penalized and without my cable and internet service going through the roof.
Any suggestions?

Are you signed into a contract? If so, your obligated to keep your phone service or face a termination fine. If not, then just call Cox and ask to speak with them.
As for price differences, then that is somewhat unavoidable since most discount and bundles involve all 3 products.
With that said, did you want to troubleshoot the problem? Or were you just asking about disconnecting.

I am in a contract, but at this point, I do believe facing an early termination fee would be less costly than continuing to pay for a service that has never really worked properly since I signed up in September.

I've called, disconnected and reconnected according to the instructions, and been in to the store a few times about this. I keep getting suggestions about how to resolve it, but no resolution. I am gone a lot during the daytime, because of work, so it's difficult to call someone out. I had been hoping to resolve it by phone or by going in to the store.
