The bill_byrne@verizon.net address appears to be invalid or blocked for security reasons from Verizon so its not a account that can send/receive. Based on what is in the email it appears it is a automated spam response that is getting bounced back to our servers. Are you aware of sending to or trying to use that bill_byrne@verizon.net account to use as a forward or reply to address? If not how are you checking your email currently through our Webmail site or another program?

I'm getting these- sometimes as many as ten per day... the sender appears to be overseas who has been using my email as the sender and reply to address for either spam or phishing. I initiated a discussion here a couple weeks ago but got no real answers beyond the extremely inconvenient solution of changing my email address -including modifying all my contacts, business etc.
There's the requisite placebo buttons of forwarding the emails to someone in the federal government who's paid to ignore it or to report as spam to Cox which theoretically enables them to filter what reaches your inbox but doesn't seem to be a way of actually stopping a problem, which has the potential of rendering an email address useless after it has been blacklisted after enough recipients of the SPAM complain.

I got some of these bounced phishing emails which had used my return address. I figured that the spammers get caught too easily if they use one of the free email providers .... so they have started using Cox addresses. The 1st time it happened, the Cox phone rep was very helpful. He called the ISP in Iowa where the email had originated. They shut it down fast. 2nd time the phone rep said that it looked like the spammers had gotten into my account. They had entered many domains to my "blocked addresses". He removed them and i changed my password. 3rd time i got several bounced emails, the phone rep said they had not gotten into my account. They were just "spoofing" my return address. I changed my password. All 3 times the Cox reps were very helpful. They were all Tier 2 or 2.5. The only problem is the 25 minute hold time (in some cases) to get to them. One reason i enjoy this forum.
A newspaper article said that the phishers and spammers always go after the most gullible targets. But it doesn't seem possible that someone getting a "warning" from a major bank would have a non-bank (my) email return address and not think it was a scam.

I've actually had this same issue since mid February. I woke up one morning and had like 20 of them, and now I get them almost daily since. First I thought somebody hijacked my account so I changed my password but they continued so I'm sure it's just somebody spoofing our address. It's even the same exact bogus emails from Wells Fargo that they are sending just like yours lol.
