So I received an email from Cox stating that one or more of my computers may be infected with Alureon/TDSS.
I use McAfee Cox Security Suite and it picked up nothing. Further more, I have downloaded and ran multiple malware scans and they also have found nothing.
I ran Malwarebytes, Microsoft Safety Scanner, TDSSkiller, Norton Power Eraser on all 3 computers... all turned up nothing!
I have called cox twice, and they are not really helpful. They suggest to do the same things I have already done and refuse to tell me what exactly triggered this response from them or when it occurred. Yet I see that they were able to tell vegas50000 in this thread..

I don't think these warnings are very helpful, if Cox refuses to share valuable information that would help me to sort out whether I actually have this virus or not.
We have multiple devices in our home-- tablets, computers, phones. I need to be able to better pinpoint which device possibly resulted in this. I understand that you are not able to tell a specific device, but since we each do different things on our devices knowing the external ip address and port number that triggered the warning from cox would certainly be beneficial. Since you were able to provide that information to vegas50000 in the thread linked above. I also request that you send that information to me.
Thanks

Indeed we aren't able to pinpoint a specific device when behind a router. If you have an active network security case which sounds like may be the case you can call 800-753-6085 for more information. I would also not assume that a clean virus can means no infection. Malware is designed to evade such scans. It's also possible that a device not normally on your home network could have been involved and has since left. I had a similar issue myself once with a PC I brought home to clean out for recycling. During the 30 minutes or so it was on prior to me reformatting the hard drive it triggered a similar alert from our security team.

Thank you Chris. I did call that number that you mentioned. The first time I talked with Paul, the second time my husband spoke with Darlene. I understand that you can't tell me the specific device but can you give me the name of the external domain that our device(s) tried to access that is known for being a host of the Alureon virus? I would also like to know the date and time that our device accessed said site that prompted the warning from Cox like you all provided for Vegas50000. Knowing the date and time can also help me to pinpoint which device may have triggered the warning.
Also I have yet to get a straight answer as to whether the Alureon/TDSS virus is windows based only or if it also affects iphones and/or Android tablets. Knowing this information will help me to know what further actions to take.
Thank you,
Kelli

The network security team would be the ones to have the specifics regarding what triggered the alarm. As for the virus itself the Internet may be your best friend as far as obtaining more information about the bug is concerned. Mobile infections are becoming more common so that is something that should be considered.
