Fox Sports West audio problems

Does anyone else have occasional problems with the audio cutting out on Fox Sports West? When this happens, the video also goes pixelated.

TL20,

Is the cable straight from the wall to the receiver or is there a splitter?

All the cables are fine. It only seems to happen on this one channel.

TL20,

Do you notice if this occurs during certain times of the day or with certain programs?

We notice it while watching L.A. Kings hockey games, which is about the only time we watch this channel.

Hi TL20,

Are you having this issues and is it still happening on both HD/SD channels?

It is still happening. We are only watching the HD channel, so I don't know about the SD channel.

I took a look at your account and I'm not able to see anything happening with the signal to the DVR. Are you having this problem on both the DVR and the mini-box? I did take a look to see if any other customers are complaining of this same issue with Fox Sports West and I'm not seeing any trends with this issue. We may need to consider sending a field technician out to take a look.

Cox wouldn't admit to any trends of problems, but TL20 is on the right track to ask others.  Because Fox Sports West is regional (LA), you'd have to ask neighbors if they also have occasional problems.  If the website of Fox Sports West has a user comment section during live games, you could ask there.  Maybe on Twitter or Facebook.  Wherever fans congregate on the web during games.

Thank you Stephanie. I guess I don't know if the problem affects the mini-box too. I will check that next time I am watching a hockey game.

Hi TL20,

Live sporting events are not compressed as much before being broadcast, and are therefore sensitive to signal issues at the home. We do see more tiling on live events than pre-recorded events and TV shows. The next time this happens, reach out to us via our Facebook page, our Twitter account, or email us at Cox.Help@cox.com. We can verify if we're seeing the tiling on Fox Sports West at the same time.
