Cox has a limit of 20MB per e-mail, that included text and all attachments. 2 to 3 6MB photos should be ok. You may be limited on the receiving side ... I believe Hotmail has a limit of 10MB.
Another option, as I do, upload your photos to cloud storage. The Essential package gives you 5GB of Cloud Drive storage, Preferred gives you 50GB and up from there. Upload your photos and just send a link to the cloud folder. This eliminates all size limitations.

It's probably worth adding that the hard limit for email size on our end is 20MB but that is including any and all overhead that occurs in transit. It's been my experience that the practical limit (before overhead) is somewhere closer to about 14MB or so. Also, as AllenP mentioned the recipients' email provider may have stricter limits and reject your message if it exceeds their maximum size.
