good evening,
Both myself and my in-laws have cox internet service and have been noticing some issues in web service where we will be surfing the net and all of a sudden the internet stops reponding. What I mean by not responding is not the typical not responding where the computer identifies the issue and closes the program, rather it doesnt completely load the websites that we select links to go to. Is this some sort of fallout issue caused by the servicing of the email outage.
thanks and have good evening!

The email outage isn't Internet service related however when it look at your modem it appears to be in distress as far as signal levels are concerned. It may be helpful for a technician to come out and troubleshoot further.

I have the same problem. Web pages take forever to load, like 10-15 minutes per page. I never had a problem like this before the e-mail outage. This is the worst I have experienced since dialup days, and a bad dialup day at that. I have a hard time believing the modem could be the problem when everything worked fine up until the outage occured.

My internet went out last night approx. 8pm last night. After power cycling the modem and wireless router, it came back sporatically. I called the automated system that responded that there was a problem. As of 7am this morning, the only way to get a webpage up is to hardwire connect from the modem to the PC.

After reading a few other threads I came across a guy who basically badmouthed Internet Explorer as a problem. He recommended using either Firefox or Chrome for web browsing. I thought what the heck and I downloaded Firefox, and lo and behold, my web browsing is back up to the fast speeds I had before the e-mail issues emerged. Appears my problem was Internet Explorer after all.
