dying modem/gateway or network issue??
Hello,
I have a Cisco DPC3825 gateway with preferred package. The past 2 days, I have had connection issues. my devices will lose internet. when I look at the gateway, all the lights are flashing. upon observation, it appears the gateway is constantly rebooting. the power LED will remain on, it will light up sequentially as normal (us, ds) but then the online will continue to flash, then the 4ports will flash and all will go off and start to reboot again. and the cycle continues.
my computers will see the gateway for a second or two, then it will drop off, then re-appear. IF it stays on long enough, it will show "connecting" then eventually will drop of the list again. I was able one time to connect however it showed "limited access", then dropped off the list again.
I have tried unplugging everything, cables, a/c cord, still the same issue. like it's trying to connect then fails and reboots.
chat support said they showed no outage in my area (that day it first started).
today seems to be okay so far. but does this sound like a hardware issue or is it a network side issue. the gateway is about 2 years old, so I'm wondering if I should go purchase a new dual band unit (if it sounds like my current one is dying).
thanks for any assistance. if was quite frustrating. but all seems fine right now. fingers crossed.
also, when I was initially able to get online again (before losing connection) speed test showed 2mb down, 6mb up.

I took a look at the modem signals and they are lower than normal. Are there any splitters connected to the cable outlet? If so, can you bypass the splitter and connect direct from the back of the modem to the coaxial cable outlet. If the signal improves then I would recommend replacing the splitter.
