We just received a dvr for our upstairs tv yesterday and it responds very slowly when I scroll through the channel guide and when I try to change the channel. It also take a long time to power up. Do we have a faulty box or is there something I can do to set it up differently? Thanks.

It's always possible to have a defective receiver, though it should be rare. Other than operating slowly, are you having any picture problems, trouble with recordings, etc.?
I get a positive signal response from both DVRs associated with your username, so the last thing we would want to try would be a full reset. Email us at coxhelp@cox.com and reference this forum post, and be sure to include the serial number of the DVR with a problem (12 characters starting with M, on the bottom or back of the box), and we can send an initialization signal.
