Delete large batches of email.

I need to deal with a super full (1oo%) inbox. I know...my husband has told me not to get subscrived to everthing.  I get it.  BUt I keep ending up on lists. (old Navy and whatnot....)  I want to delete a TON of email.  For instance, the 62,000 PAGES of email into a facebook folder.  Can I empty the entire folder without 620,000 clicks to trash?

Please tell me this is possible.  I rarely use the interface of classic or enhanced email - both are a nightmare and I use my iphone for almost all my email need.s  But I need to deal with this inbox situation so stuff that I DO need stops bouncing....

You could set up a client like Outlook to download them all, but thats going to take a long time. Like maybe a whole day. 

Other then that, you can delete the email address, wait a few days, and then try to re-add the username. There is the chance of losing the email address though, if someone happens to create it on their account while you have it deleted.

If you're using classic webmail there is actually an option to empty the entire contents of a folder.  Click "Manage Folders" and you'll see a list of folders with the number of items contained.  Any folder that has items in it will have a little icon just to the right that if clicked you'll be prompted to confirm that you want to empty the contents.

Thanks for the tip.  Worked perfectly.  It wasn't terribly obvious what to do - I couldn't even tell what that icon represented!

When I try that there is no box to check next to main inbox. I assume the "Inbox" does not count as a folder? Good tip non the less, just curious if Im missing something.

Also, FYI, it works with enhanced webmail too, just right click the folder and you should get a option to "Delete Folder". Still can't delete the inbox, but still good to know.
