Default IMAP folders

I recently converted my POP3 accounts to IMAP, and I seem to have redundant folders, e.g., Trash, Deleted Items, Deleted Messages.  I can delete some of these folders but I'm not sure which folders are needed for Webmail.  Also, I have four separate email accounts with Cox, and when I refreshed the IMAP folders for each one, they have slightly different folder structures.  For example, one account only shows Inbox, Trash, and SentMail.

Can anyone tell me what the default IMAP folders should be for a Cox IMAP account?

The confusion may be with regards to where folders are actually stored by account type.  Most email programs will store folders for POP3 accounts on the device where as folders for an IMAP account are actually created on the server.  Your mail client may show these folders in some sort of a tree arrangement.  If so, any folders shown under the IMAP account's tree would be folders created on the server.  Your previous folders that were created while using your email as a POP account would likely still remain on the PC.

This helps a great deal.  I was able to delete all of the redundant folders.  I just have to be careful to uncheck the send mail preferences in Cox webmail, because sending mail from webmail creates a redundant "Sent Mail" folder if that box is checked.  Now if I could just get Gmail to stop putting a "Gmail" subfolder under my Gmail account, but apparently I have no control over that.  Thanks for your help!
