Cox Wireless Router with DirecTV Genie

Using a Genie with DirecTV through a wireless Cox connection. Our TV (DirecTV receiver) states we are connected. We can't seem to use the On Demand feature as we get an error stating the internet may be unstable or slow. We have 50mpbs. DirecTV says to contact my internet provider; I have not yet called as I think the folks on the forums often have better insight.

I wonder if it is the router? We have to reboot it at least weekly.

Anyone else encountered this issue? Suggestions?

I'd suggest trying to test your speeds for starters by visiting http://www.cox.com and utilizing the speed test tool under Internet Tools using wired and wireless connections to see how your results compare.
