Hello , i have recently upgraded my internet to premier. i have ran the tests and i am only getting 17 mbps for download speeds and 0.30 mbps on upload speeds. i should be getting 50 mbps for download speeds and 10 mbps for upload speeds. I am also not able to connect directly to the modem because it is already occupied. Please help.

I'd suggest for starters when the modem is less occupied to try a direct connection to see if the speeds differ any.  We may need to also look at your equipment and how your account is setup.  What make model modem and router do you have?

The model for my modem (motorola) is SB5101U and the model for my router (netgear) is WNDR4500v2. I have already tried to test the speeds when i am connected to the modem and i get the same result.

That would be part of the issue the Docsis 2.0 modem would not be capable of getting 50 Mbps down, 25 to 30 would be the max you could expect out of the older modems in download speeds. To get the full 50 Mbps for the Preferred speed updates you would need a Docsis 3.0 modem there. You can view the full list of supported modems on our support site here.  ---
