Contour won't pause or rewind
I had Contour installed a week or so ago and I cannot pause or rewind live TV.
I went into settings on each Cable box and enabled pause. At first it was working but it would take a minute or so to actually pause and it isn't work very well.
Now it won't work at all on any of my 4 cable boxes. I hit pause and it says "Please wait while we attempt to pause this program" and then it says unable to pause at this time. Sometimes it just starts with the unable to pause message.
Honestly the Contour system doesn't seem ready for prime time. It's a good concept but it doesn't really work as advertised.
Anyone woes having similar problems?

Well, I'll have to say it this way. It's an imperfect system, but as far as I know there is no such thing as a perfect system.
The 'pause live TV' feature requires the client receiver to send a request back to the host DVR to use its storage and one of its tuners, so it's going to take a second, and may fail in the rare event that all six tuners are busy.
However, if it takes more than a few seconds, or if it fails when there are definitely tuners free, then there's generally some kind of system issue. Most often that can be fixed with a system reboot (power-cycle the receivers, preferably the host DVR first and then the clients), since these are basically just specialized computers, but sometimes there's a signal problem on the Whole Home network.
Going by the notes on your account, it appears that we went with the reboot. If that becomes necessary on a regular basis, there may be some issue causing the Whole Home network to go out of sync, like signal problems, hardware problems, etc.

Yes I called Cox support today and a helpful woman told me pretty much what you wrote here.
I understand no system is perfect but I was able to painlessly and easily pause and rewind from any TV as well as watch recorded programs in any room and get personalized suggestions on my TIVO more than 10 years ago.
Pausing and rewinding is pretty basic DVR functionality these days.
