The last month or so I have constantly been experiencing slowness issues and random disconnects. My speeds will drop to as low as 800kbps at times when it should be approx 18mbps. It will randomly disconnect with no pattern as to when or why. After reading several forum posts this seems to be a very common issue with tons of other people. Most of which don't seem to have a solution even after having a tech come out (in some cases more than once). There is a tech assigned to come to my place on Sunday but I'm guessing they will not find a solution given the fact that this seems to be a wider issue and not specific to my connection. It's very frustrating to randomly only get <1% of what I pay for and I'm wondering if Cox is looking into this and the possibility it's a bigger issue (maybe on their infrastructure side)? When I experience this slowness I run a trace route and the latency increases dramatically when arriving at the cox addresses.

Are you able to try any testing without the router to see if the issue persists?

Already have. The issue happens even if I bypass the router. I am also not behind a splitter. It happens regardless of the pc as well.

If you can copy and paste the traceroutes into the post with the latency, we can take a closer look there on what is going on with the speeds and interment connectivity.
