I get lots of DNS not found and/ or Internet not detected messages when I open Chrome browser...what could be causing this ? My desktop is on Ethernet, but my laptops and smartphones are wireless...

Are you getting these messages on all devices, both the wired desktop & WiFi devices? What modem/router/gateway do you have?

How does the problem get fixed? Do you have to reset modem and/or router?
+1 What router or gateway do you have? If just just effecting chrome, and not other browsers, click on the wrench at the top right corner, select options, uncheck "use DNS pre-fetching to improve page loading". Then clear your history is see if problem persists.
