My connection drops just enough for me to lose my connection to online games. I just recently upgraded my modem to take advantage of the new Ultimate speeds (300/30). I am currently using an Arris TG2472. I had zero issues with disconnects until switching to this modem. I have it wired (Cat6) directly into my PC's onboard NIC (Killer E2200 on my MSi Gaming 5 motherboard). Sometimes I can go hours without disconnecting, other times it happens multiple times a minute. I've reset the modem many times. I'm unable to determine if my other devices lose connection due to the duration of disconnect being so brief and I'm not always watching them like my main PC. Attached are my modem logs (surprised the tables stayed intact ). Any ideas?

Most likely it's not displaying wrong. It could be an intermittent Ethernet issue you're experiencing if that's the case. Trying another cable/port may be helpful.

Same thing is happening to me. My best guess is your over the data limit. My connection didn't do it until i hit 100% of my data and even tho they claim not to throttle your connection this in my case is clearly that. No they aren't slowing down my internet speed but every 30 minutes or so the connection resets i guess to limit how much continuous data i use.

Nope. I've only used 115GB so far this billing period.

What port is your desktop plugged into on the gateway? Looks like LAN 1 is duplexing at 10Mbps.
Also, try running a continuing ping on another PC while you game: Windows Key + R > CMD > Ping -t 8.8.8.8
Then when the problem happens, check the ping. CTRL+C stops it and will give you a read out of how many packets were loss and latency, etc. You could also install pingplotter, but thats a bit more complex.
Overall I have heard bad things about Arris TG2472. Would work great bridged, but for some reason Cox does not allow this. Probably because it might disable the phone function. What they NEED is a phone modem (NOT gateway) with more then 16 downstream channels for Ultimate. They are currently testing it, but still no release.

During that log it was connected to LAN 2. I was switching it around to see if it made any difference.
I contacted support and they "reset the signal". I'll see if the disconnects continue.
Yeah I was bummed to get the gateway. I just want a normal modem with a dumb line that I can use my own router on. The 2472 was the only option with phone. I should see about dropping the phone and buying a regular modem. When I got service it was cheaper to include then phone than not, which is ridiculous. I don't think I've used the home phone in at least 2 years. There's a bridge option in the settings, but it freezes as soon as you select it.
If the disconnects continue, I'd rather go back to 150Mb and the old modem (or check out Centurylink's 1 gig service).
I'll check the packet loss tomorrow and report back.

Then it was still only showing a 100Mbps connection. What settings do you have configured with your NIC. Also, are you using CAT5e and above to connect the PC to the gateway? The port on the gateway and your NIC is gigabit compatible, so it should be connecting at 1000Mbps. Otherwise you won't get above 100Mbps.
Then what you should do is get one phone modem (eMTA) and one modem for internet. The phone modem would probably be a DPQ3212 and then you can buy any internet modem you want. I would suggest the SB6190. Just make sure you get the firmware updated if it doesn't do it automatically after a day or two. The trick is balancing the signal levels between the two modems. Since you would have to use a splitter, your basically halfing your cable signal. This isn't a problem if your signal is strong enough. As long as both modems meet signal spec, you won't see a performance decrease. Also, its possible Cox (or you) could rewire the house to reduce any unused outlets to focus the coaxial signal to where it needs to go. Would need to know how your house is wired to give more suggestions.

I'm getting 330Mbps connected to that port vita Cat6 cable. Perhaps it's displaying wrong, or the sticker on the gateway showing port numbers isn't correct. The speed isn't my issue, just the random disconnects.

I looked at your connection from this end however I'm not seeing any indicators of problems. Can you try testing with a wired connection and see if you still have problems?

Replaced the Cat6 cable. Stable for the past few days.
