So it seems Cox is now charging long distance charges for calling their own tech support, who kept me on hold for 10 of the 15 minute duration while they changed some setting to my TV account as well as for making an appointment at the car dealership that I can walk to. Both of these numbers are indicated as local in their online guide, I think. I'm pretty sure they keep that guide intentionally confusing. I'm trying to call them, but working nights makes that tough. Plus I want them to be able to tell me how much I'm going to be charged for calling them to correct the billing mistake before putting me on hold and padding their pockets. Can anyone fix this without putting the burden on the customer?
