If I change (subscriber supplied / owned) modems, do I need to call into the service center to activate / connect to the internet with the new modem?
If the new modem "does not work out" and I want to go back to the old modem, do I need to call into the service center to re-activate / connect to the internet with the old modem?

In the event you change your modem at any time, you will need to contact us so that we can provision your modem to work on our network. You do have the option to switch back to your old modem if you decide that the new modem "does not work out". I hope this information helps.

Yes, you need to call each time you change from one modem to another, even the same model.
