Can't "COMPOSE" (SEND) email in cox WebMail

Can't "write" anything in the message area when I try to COMPOSE & send anything. I get a gray box that says "a plug in is needed to display this content" & of course there is now room or way to even write anything in that area. If I hit the button on the gray message box  it says it's a Java plug in & then says its a Java Runtime Environment. But NOW when I hit that button on the gray box, saying "install plugin", NOTHING happens! When I did install it before it messed up other things. There is also an "X" (close) box in top right corner but IT won't close/eliminate the gray box either!

I BELIEVE I FOUND MOST OF THE PROBLEM! At least now I CAN both compose & FW....  BUT I get a box that comes up saying "Application Blocked By Security Settings"
