Caller ID only displays name, date and time. It does not display the number

Caller ID only displays name, date and time. It does not display the number.

What can be done to reconfigure the CID to display the name and number on the phone handsets?

this problem appeared about year ago and I thought it was my old phones.

Just received a new kx tg7645 panasonic phone system for xmas and the same issue exists of NO CID phone number displaying on the handsets.

My guess is something is broken inside the "switch" or telephone system.

Do you have a phone modem? If so, I would suggest resetting it using a toothpick and the reset button/hole on the back. DO NOT do this if it is a wireless phone modem. Instead either take the battery out and disco/reco power, or call Cox and have them reset it from there.

If that doesn't work, you may need to call Cox and have them put in a ticket with the Telephone Test Desk.

Yikes. I'm sorry that went on so long. When something like this happens, it's generally a good idea to let us know right away. There's always a chance any problem could be our fault, no matter how weird it might seem. Fortunately, your answer seems to have been found, and the problem should be fixed soon.

If the customer still has the outside phone interface or the old-style apartment phone interface (Indoor Voice Port) then resetting isn't an option, but otherwise yes, resetting the eMTA will often help with stuck features. However, if it's something entirely on our end, that can't fix it.

You are correct, sir.  The line is missing at least two codes that I know of. I'm actually not sure how it's even getting partial Caller ID data.
I have already put in the ticket to the Test Desk, and I believe it should be normally straightened out within 48 hours.

And now the ticket is completed, the codes show up in the switching computer ("SCWID"="Spontaneous Call Waiting Identification", "CNAMD"="Calling Name Delivery", and "CND"="Calling Number Delivery" which is probably the most important one), and everything should be working.

Is it showing up like it should now?
