cable box showing wrong time

The power went out at our house yesterday during a thunderstorm.  Since then, the cable box reset the time to 1200 January 1, 1980. I've tried turning off the box for a couple of minutes and turning it back on, but every time it resets to the same time. How do I get the correct time?

The boxes can only be self-set however if that isn't happening I'd say the box has either failed or there is still a communication problem preventing it from reaching us to determine the time.  Are any of your other services affected?

Internet still works and the tv channels are coming in fine

When I look from this end signal levels to the modem are extremely poor and we have no communication to the box.  TV will often work fine in this situation but interactive services such as the guide/OnDemand/clock will experience problems.  It may be necessary to arrange for a technician to come out and troubleshoot further to get this resolved for you.
