I have for a long time noticed that when I come home from work, that the channel I left it on, has switched to some station that is only in Spanish. I didn't think much of it, but then I was at home watching a tv show I had recorded, when right in the middle my show was stopped and then switched to that Spanish station. It is possible for someone to piggyback on my cable box, maybe with a spliced cable in the attic? I never go up there and when I moved in a while back, there were quite a few extra cables upstairs. Help!

Hmm. I can't locate your account from your forum profile, but if I had to guess I'd say you're in Northern VA because this problem sounds very familiar from my time on the phones.
The Scientific Atlanta/Cisco receivers there are sometimes programmed to boot to a default startup channel when they power-cycle, and that channel is usually 2 in the Fairfax lineup, Telefutura. So your receiver is probably resetting for some reason like a system update or maintenance or just a random power blip, and when it comes back on that's the channel it lands on.
It's not possible to control the channel tuning through the coaxial cable, so I can't think of any other reason it would tune to a Spanish channel other than one being set as the default startup channel. You can change that setting on most of the Cisco/SA receivers by going to the settings menu (usually the settings button then "A" for "more settings") then "power-on channel" and setting it to "last channel" or a different preferred channel.
