Why does Cox blackout football on Fox/CBS whenever the Cardinals are playing? For example: The Cardinals are currently playing the Colts on CBS, however, the Fox game of the week (Dallas at New York) is blacked out and is a completely unrelated game/channel. I understand you have to see the local team on the local station, but why is the other station blacked out when the rest of the nation can see it?

The "blackout" wasn't Cox's doing. It was done because of NFL rules.
Check out http://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2013&wk=12
See the map showing coverage of the afternoon game(s) on Fox? See the gray area in the upper 80% of Arizona? See the explanation that the gray area means "NO GAME due to NFL rules" ?? That's your answer. Since Arizona was at home in a afternoon game, Fox could not televise a competing game. The same thing occurred for the morning game around Kansas City, Houston, Cleveland, San Francisco, and Baltimore.
