My buildings lights went out for 7 hours. I had my equipment plugged into a Surge Protector. After lights came back on , I turned on Surge Protector. My DVR Box Re-Booted. OK NOW I have a Problem because my DVR Box and TV are connected diferently by Cox Because of the Security Camera in the lobbies. To turn on TV and Box all I had to do was use power button on Cable Remote. or when I switched to Security Camera from Cable remote I pressed input and went to TV (on the tv screen)
Problem is: I cannot get the Security Camera to show on the TV. Camera shows on Channel 74 normally, but after box rebooted no security camera on 74. This because why??? Original hookup was by input of cable remote . Inputs show on TV, As: TV, Video 1, Video 2. Channel 74 was originally put on input -tv. Video 1 is blank , and Video 2 input shows Cable channels (all pictures). Video 1 input controls my DVD player, vcr (which I hardly use).(These all using Cox Cable Remote)
After 2 hours trying to get it to work right, I called Cox , no help. Another 1-1/2 hrs. I rebooted my TV channels and set my TV on Cable using the menu on TV itself. Now I get Channel 74 picture on my TV on TV input on cable remote. But I have a volume on it and not supposed to. When I input to TV2, I get pictures on all channels but the volume when I turn it up shows red marks and very low volume. Also in order to get the guide I have to press the cable button on cable remote. This never happened before and something is messed up.
So what is the actual TV supposed to be set on in the menu of the TV itself?
Hope this is not confusing; but it was a confusing way Cox hooked up my DVR box....My internet is fine --no problems.....

If your DVR box is a high definition box it should be connected via either a component cable or HDMI input on your TV. If the security system works on channel 74 that would bypass and of our equipment and likely need to be accessed by selecting the appropriate input for over the air TV or direct to set cable on the TV.
