Advertising in the Guide
All of a sudden there is this big obtrusive ad in the Guide. How do I get rid of it?

That's big and obtrusive? You can get rid of that by using the Trio/Contour guide.

Well not all of us have that. Our market was still using the guide above for non Whole home DVR before I left cable. It added late in the passport echo life span and I thought it was annoying as heck. Why advertise for something I already pay separately for while there already commercial ads. Whats next, some Idiocracy like TV with 20 PIP ad windows. LOL

Are you saying that in an area that uses Contour in WHDVR installations, a customer could not request a 8642HDC or 8742HDC (which both run on Contour) ??

We appreciate the feedback, however there is no option to remove or turn off the advertising at this time. We will make sure to share your comments about this feature with the appropriate teams.

I agree. Just because there's room for an ad on the guide doesn't mean it should go there. Is there not enough advertising on EVERY channel already? Does the little extra revenue it generates really make up for the poorer customer experience?
