3d98

This morning when I woke up (6:30am) the auxillary box I can see in the den was flashing back and forth between the time and what appeared to be 3d98. I looked at the other boxes (one aux, not display and one host) and both of them seemed to be doing something also.

What was this? Was it just maintenance or something else. It was still doing it over 30minutes later. I was still able to watch cable normally, though at least one channel claimed to have no signal and said to use code 3.1.1 if I called. I didn't as I had to get to work, so figured would check here.

We have seen a few reports of this issue lately.  Disconnecting power to the box and reconnecing it appears to clear the issue.

I'm receiving and Ed98... was wondering if this was the same thing... it just started in the past 12 - 14 hours on both of our boxes (main and auxillary)

I have also seen the flashing "Ed38" on both of our newly installed units this morning and several days ago.   It's not cool to make us "unplug and replug" the unit as the "solution."   Cox should tell us what this means and what needs to be done, if anything, to fix it permanently.

oops... the flashing code is "Ed98"  not "Ed38"

I have the Ed98 flashing. I have done the power off thing, had Cox reset the boxes, done the online reset tool, and nothing has corrected the problem. This morning, all my tv's had no signal for an hour or so. I am in Macon, GA.

I wish Cox could get its act together on the whole house DVR system,

I checked with my local technical support and was advised that they know about it and other then being annoying it should not affect my service at all.  So leaving it as is is just fine until they get the patch pushed out that will stop it for good.

We get it also. We reboot. Simply unplug power in cord on DVR. You don't have to turn off TV. Wait 4 or 5 minutes and plug back in.  Let it do it's stuff. When it looks stable on box itself, turn DVR power on. You'll be good. If you have more than one host box you may have to reboot all of them. No doubt it's annoying & I hope it occurs less frequently in the near future !
