Watching a recorded program on the Contour App?

why is watching recorded shows not possible without a Cloud DVR and a panoramic Wifi upgrade.  I am able to stream every recorded show using Xfinity's app.

Just like other providers, a cloud DVR is required to be able to access the recordings from the cloud through an app. Regular DVR's do not have this capability as the content would be stored on the hard drive of the DVR.
