Cox service is making me lose my hair!!!
UPDATE 2/7: today the internet went out andas usual it happened in the same time like before. UPDATE 2/6: so I had a tech come in on Thursday [2/4] to look at the "issue" and they said that it was the POE filter and the splitter that was installed on the main line that's causing the disconnections. They said it was not up to spec with their network. Okay so they replaced it with their own as well as replaced the coax cables that's connected from the outlet to my modem. Today [2/6] I've now experienced a disconnection for 10 mins instead of a mere 1-2 mins prior to this "fix". So I pretty much spent $100 of my money just to get a worse network experience. I, and others in my household, rely on your network 24/7 not just for leisure but also for workand cannot have interruptions this severe. I am now contemplating on reporting this to the FCC the more issues I experience. I've been having issues everyday at the same timeframe with my gigablast. I've never had an issue before but so far it has started on the 2nd week of January to now and it had only worked without issue for two days straight last week.. My network connection would cut off multiple times around 11am-2pm everyday and whenever I ask assistance they would always tell me that they'll send out a tech to check my connection. I've factory reset my modem and router a million times, switched over to another coax port in the house, have tried having a direct connection from the main line to one coax port (no splitter), I've done having direct connection to the modem and all these steps have not resolved the issue. The website says that there are no outages, maintenance, service interruptions whatsoever but there clearly is. It seems Cox isn't as responsive unless it about bill pay. Customer Support would always pull a "let's have a tech come in to check your connection", no my connection isn't the issue, the residents in the vicinity is having the issue andCox doesn't seem to understand that. I've asked multiple times to check the main line that goes in our area but no one is sent to check it. There are multiple reports even on Downdetector of the same issue I'm experiencing.3.3KViews1like14CommentsInternet issue
Issue has been a problem for months now. New modem does not fix the problem. Resetting the modem does nothing as well. On my modem's page, there is a massive amount of uncorrectable errors on channel 10. Refreshing the page adds thousands more uncorrectables. Channel 10's SNR fluctuates wildly per refresh. This is making my internet very unstable. Help.39Views0likes1CommentBad customer service
How do get a supervisor to return your call? We have been waiting two weeks and placed two calls and have not been called back even though we were told we would be in 24 hours. We has an installer ruin preinstalled equipment, speak derogatory about another customer and give his political view and swear in our house. Where is management and why are they ignoring this issue! This is bad customer service.Solved65Views0likes1CommentPoor Service
I work from home and every day for the last 4 days COX internet has been intermittently down throughout the day and I am unable to do my job. I know Century Link and Google are installing in my area. This is not much of an incentive to stay with COX when they come knocking on my door. What type of reimbursement do we receive for this disruption of service?52Views0likes1CommentInternet issues in Cranston RI
Over the past few days we've been having outage and packet-loss issues in Cranston RI. The Cox app confirms that there are issues and the issue is being corrected. Working from home, it's a pain having my VPN connection drop every 5 minutes. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come; our Internet service has been good over the years but lately not so much.100Views0likes7CommentsPacket loss

Hi, my internet download and upload speed are great and my ping while gaming stay between 30 and 50ms. However, I have the unstable packet loss notification the entire time that I am gaming. Oddly enough, this normally doesn't impact the game a ton but can be annoying. It does however kill my twitch stream entirely. I'm hard wired into my router with an ethernet cord and have changed it out multiple times. Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this?57Views0likes1CommentHaving to reboot modem every day
Starting about 2 weeks ago I have to reboot my SB8200 at least once a day. Internet just completely stops working. Massive packet loss to the point where I can't pull up a web page. Rebooting devices downstream of the modem (gateway, wifi, client devices) makes no difference. As soon as I reboot the modem everything starts working again. Support has been no help and just run me in circles saying, "The signal to the modem is fine." I'm hoping someone might have a suggestion as to what to do next. I've included a couple pictures of my connection status page. Thanks.74Views0likes0CommentsInternet is out again
Boy I sure do love spending $100 a month of my hard earned cash to have a service that fails all the time. Yet again, here I am trying to get some work done and I can’t because there’s a network issue preventing me from connecting any of my devices to the internet. Can I run a hotspot off of my phone? Sure. But that’s not the point. The point is I’m paying for a service that shouldn’t just blip out of existence whenever it wants. I’ve never had these issues with any other ISP yet I’m forced into using this god forsaken service because Cox has a monopoly on the internet available in my city. I hate it here. I hate cox. This whole forum does nothing to help other than coddle boomers who can’t use google. I can’t wait for some cox sucker to come defend this company because cox chose to invest better infrastructure in their area than mine. Save your time. Just fix your **bleep** servers and let me work in peace. Also! Fun fact. My account password and information was recently discovered in a data leak so I would recommend anyone reading this update their details. Not only is Cox failing to provide internet services to their customers but they’re failing to provide basic security for their customers information. Ridiculous.43Views1like1Comment
