I noticed that my cable service now (finally...) has Spectrum Sportsnet LA (the Dodgers channel). It is channel 54 and it's only 12 1/2 years late. Is this only a temporary thing, or will be a permanent channel in the lineup? Also, most of the commercials on that channel are for Hawaii. Is that normal? Or, are we getting a special Hawaii feed of the channel? Finally, I just saw that Cox is now Spectrum. Has Spectrum bought out the Cox company entirely, or has Spectrum just taken over my local market (Palos Verdes, CA)?

Hi there,
Thank you for contacting the Cox Social Media Support Team. Very recently, Cox has merged with Charter and has become solely Spectrum cable services. Any changes are coming in gradually, whether feed or signal, to channel lineups. All broadcasted commercials are typically based on your locale. However, since this merger just happened Friday, the equipment is getting new updates that were not recently available from Cox. As this merger gets a little more footing, I imagine it will settle properly and acquire a normal feed in its own locale. I hope that answers your question. You can find more information on the Cox is Spectrum resource page. I have included the URL here, https://www.cox.com/residential/cox-is-now-spectrum.html. Did you have any other questions or concerns we can address in the meantime?
Thank you,
-Shaun
