remote
for several days, the remote doesn't work properly for part of the day.
power, tv input, volume work, most the rest does not work. Then it will work just fine again.

The commands you listed (power, input, volume) are sent to the TV via IR. Meaning, your TV is receiving and processing the commands. The rest of the buttons on the remote are sent to the cable-box to process. Meaning, you may have a defective remote or RF transmitter.
It'd be faster to just exchange the remote at a Solution Store.
