Incorrect times for recordings

Currently,  programming says  we are recording the NY Christmas tree lighting, IT IS NOT. It is recording local programming . This is not the first time ( CMA’s for instance )  With today’s technology this makes no sense, and I don’t understand why it continues.  I expect that when we set recordings that it would be accurate..
