Speeds fluctuating anywhere from 5 mbps to 700 mbps within minutes.

Internet started running badly so after doing the basic troubleshooting  I ran some speed tests and noticed the fluctuation. Thought it might be our old router so replaced it and replaced the cable modem (Deco XE5300 and Arris S33) Still having the same problem.  Also plugged the modem directly to my computer (by by-passing router) and got the same fluctuations. At a loss on what to do to fix this. (Side note paying for 1000 mbps.)

Can you post a screenshot of your signal levels? See here. Also, when did the problem start and anything new or unusual around then? Last, how does the coax get from the pole/street to the room the modem is in? Any splitters/filter/amp?

Ends up I added a camera a couple weeks ago and as soon as I removed it all speed issues went away. Thanks for you help!

I am confused. Didn't you say you had the problem plugged directly into the modem? If so, how would that relate to the camera? Glad you figured it out though. 👍Thank you for coming back and letting the forum know. If possible, could you mark one of the posts as a solution?

I did have the modem directly plugged into the computer so I'm not sure but it was the hub from the camera that was placed by the modem that caused the issue. Not technical enough to know why 🤣  Attached pic of the hub for reference.  If you hadn't asked if anything changed it wouldn't have even crossed my mind that it could be that. Thanks again.

Thanks! That is weird. The hub must have been interfering with the modem somehow. It(TC85?) uses 2.4Ghz wifi, and current modems use 5-1000Mhz so it shouldn't directly conflict but maybe there was some kind of cross band interference. Thanks again for the update and solution mark.
