Problem with internet speed in Kansas

Cox internet connection

Is anyone else in this area having intermittent streaming issues with Cox? Ours started 3 weeks ago and Cox can’t seem to get it fixed. We have already replaced all networking tech within the house down to New wiring to no avail. Also anyone recommend someone other than Cox for College Grove area?

Are you using their router? I’m not in the college grove area and don’t currently have any problems with our cox. However, we have the highest speed Internet you can get through them and a couple of years ago we were having similar issues, (my boys like to game and were constantly being lagged out or kicked off of games due to connection), so I ended up purchasing a high end router and returned the one they provided as a rental and have not had any problems since. So I guess that would be one thing to try if you haven’t already done that.

We have issues with ours and my parents live by Rice Park and have lots of issues. They have had cox come out and it didn't get fixed. The only other option I have found was att which was worse!

We had this issue before and after many calls to Cox found out squirrels chewed through the cable. You really have to stay on them to get then to check for that problem though. Had the same problem with AT&T

We have issues still down near Carey Park area. Cox replaced all the line from pole into our home and it did better for about three days and back to problems again. We even replaced the modem and it didn't help at all. Now they tell us we should reset the modem at least once a week. Oh, and the problem could be our house LOL !

We live in the Crescent area and have had problems for a couple months. Cox told us we needed new modem and router. Since reading all the replies, not sure new equipment would help. I’ll be reading all replies if anyone has other suggestions.

We had a lot of problems also, new wiring, router lots of visits and still problems. My husband changed out the wall plate and we had no more problems. Hope this helps someone.

Hi Doug, so that we can take a look at how your modem is functioning on the Cox network, please connect a device to your Gateway with an ethernet cord, reset the Gateway, and then follow the steps at bit.ly/HowToRunCoxSpdTest and run the Cox Speed Test several times. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator
