Internet Speed

I am on the Preferred 100 plan and should be getting close to 100 mbsp but my speed tests are only in the upper 40's. That's less than half. Any ideas?

Is that using a wired connection or a wireless connection?  Perhaps, you could share more about your network topology and equipment being used.

Hi 1stClassTravel, when running the Cox Speed Test, are you using a device physically connected to your modem with an ethernet cord? Or is your modem connected to a router? Please bypass your router and connect a device directly to the modem. Use a paper clip or toothpick to press the Reboot/Reset button on the back of the modem. After the modem resets, run the Cox Speed Test again and let us know your results. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator
